Privacy Policy

LaunchCV is operated as an independent software product. For privacy inquiries, contact privacy@launchcv.co.

Account and profile data: your email address, name, locale preference, and authentication identifiers.

CV and career content: work history, education, skills, target roles, job descriptions you paste, cover letters, and AI-generated improvements you choose to save.

Job tracking data: job targets, application status, follow-up notes, interview prep materials.

Payment data: billing records processed through Stripe, including transaction amounts, currency, and status. We do not store raw card data — Stripe handles payment processing directly.

AI usage logs: records of AI-assisted actions (model used, token counts, estimated cost, action type). Content submitted to AI features is processed by our AI provider to generate suggestions.

Technical data: server logs, error reports, and basic analytics to maintain reliability and fix issues. We do not use fingerprinting or cross-site tracking.

Uploaded files: CV files you upload for parsing (PDFs and similar). These are processed, then stored temporarily and may be deleted after processing is complete.

• To provide the core service: building, editing, exporting, and tracking your CVs and job applications.
• To process payments and maintain subscription/entitlement records for legal and accounting purposes.
• To run AI features you request: when you ask LaunchCV to improve, tailor, or audit your CV, we send relevant content to our AI provider to generate suggestions.
• To maintain platform security, prevent abuse, and debug issues.
• To comply with legal obligations (tax records, fraud prevention, GDPR requirements).

Legal basis (GDPR): contract performance (to deliver the service you signed up for), legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, service improvement), and legal obligations (payment records).

When you use AI features (CV improvement, tailoring, auditing, cover letter generation, interview prep), relevant text content is sent to our AI provider’s API to generate responses. We use OpenAI as our primary AI provider.

We do not claim that your data is excluded from AI model training — check OpenAI’s current data usage policy at their official documentation for the most accurate information on how API data is handled.

We never fabricate facts about your career. AI suggestions are editing aids — you review and apply them yourself.

Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. When you make a purchase, you interact with Stripe’s secure checkout. We receive payment confirmation, transaction IDs, and billing amounts. Stripe processes and stores your card details under their own privacy policy.

Payment records (amount, currency, status, timestamps, Stripe identifiers) are retained for accounting, tax, and legal compliance purposes even after account deletion.

LaunchCV is hosted on infrastructure within the EU. Your data is stored and processed in compliance with GDPR. We use Supabase (database and authentication) and Vercel (hosting) — both have EU region options and comply with GDPR as data processors.

• Access: you can export all your data from Settings → Account → Export My Data.
• Correction: you can update your profile and CV content at any time.
• Deletion: you can request account deletion from Settings → Account. Personal content is scheduled for removal after a 30-day recovery window. Payment records are retained for legal reasons.
• Portability: your export file is in JSON format, structured and machine-readable.
• Objection / restriction: contact us at privacy@launchcv.co.
• Complaints: if you believe we are not handling your data correctly, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.

Account and CV data: retained while your account is active. After deletion request, personal content is anonymized or removed within 30 days.

Payment records: retained for 7 years for accounting and tax compliance, even after account deletion. These records do not contain CV content.

AI generation logs: action type, token counts, and timestamps are retained for billing and auditing. Content submitted is not stored separately from your CV/cover letter data.

Server logs: retained for up to 90 days for security and debugging.

LaunchCV uses cookies for authentication session management (required for the service to function) and basic analytics. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels. You can review cookie details in our Cookie Policy.
